Overview

The cement bond log (CBL) consists of the mandrel and the electronics section.

The tool is used to measure and evaluate the well cementing bond quality.

The CBL tool’s mandrel/sensing section adopts a one-transmitter-two-receiver system, the two receivers being the 3ft receiver and the 5ft receiver. The cable bus adopts digital transmission. the tool features:

· Axisymmetrical round piezoelectric transducers for firing and receiving

· Digitized signal for high-speed transmission

· 6 level of gains for acoustic signal

· Able to run with analog CCL and pulsed gamma ray tool

Application

· Evaluating first interface (casing-cement) bond

· Evaluating second interface (cement-formation) bond

· Locating casing collars, fracture or collapse

· Verify result of fracturing operation
